Uncasville, USA – With homage to Lebanon, Fairuz opened the first night of her US tour before an audience of thousands. Appearing in a stunning Afghan-styled black dress, our Ambassador to the Stars shined as she took her audience on a nostalgic journey through classic Rahbani masterpieces such as “Bhibbak ya Libnan”, “Ya Mighzal”, “Ruddani”, and “Sawa Rbeena”, while including some newly composed songs (Ya Salaam, Ma Shawarit Hali).
The audience, some of whom had traveled thousands of miles to see the Legend, was mesmerized as Fairuz transformed them with her to their little villages in “Ba’adana man Yaqsidil Kuroom”, the gentle hills of a land far away in “Ya Rubu’a Biladi”, and to days of carefree summer nights in “Akhi Iyam Esseifiyeh”. The orchestra, which included musicians from both Lebanon and Armenia, was beautifully conducted by Mr. Karen Durgarian who added energy and a special touch of enthusiasm to the performance.

Crowning the event was Fairuz’s latest, Ya Di’annou, which brought the crowd to their feet, cheering for their diva to return for more. Fairuz obliged her fans with four encores, including “Nassam ‘aleina Elhawa”, only to bow and wave one final time before disappearing offstage amidst deafening cheers and thunderous applause from the audience.

Fairuz continues on her tour and is scheduled to perform in Los Angeles on Saturday October 18, followed by her final stop on this tour at Detroit’s Fox Theatre on October 23rd.
